Female rugby players are being asked to sign a legal waiver acknowledging the risk of concussion amid growing evidence women are more susceptible to brain injury than men.
Aberdeen Grammar Rugby Club has drawn up a form highlighting the increased risk to women which players must sign before engaging in contact rugby, according to the Daily Mail.
It follows an independent report by Dr Marshall Garrett on the enhanced risks of concussion to women playing the sport. He found on the “balance of probability . . . there is an increased risk for women and an increased risk of long-term difficulties”.
