Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed that Connor Goldson faces 'several months' on the sidelines.
The influential defender picked up an injury in the 7-1 defeat to Liverpool on Wednesday night. Goldson has been virtually ever-present for the Gers since signing from Brighton and his injury is a massive blow to the Light Blues' prospects this season.
The centre-back was withdrawn with the score at 1-1 in midweek, and his absence was clearly felt as Liverpool ran riot in the second half, scoring six goals. Reports last night suggested that Goldson could be back sooner than initially feared by Gers boss van Bronckhorst provided an update this afternoon in his pre-match press conference ahead of facing Motherwell tomorrow afternoon.
"Goldson and Jack have injuries, they both have muscular issues and won't be back in the short term Davies had a knock but could continue, he has no injury and I expect him to be involved tomorrow. It's always a blow, Connor has played all the games since I arrived.
"I'm not exactly sure yet on Connor (Goldson), but it will be several months out by looks of it."
